The Boron (also called Pionsat in the area of ​​the municipality of the same name) is a river in France that runs in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises near the hamlet of Anglard , in the municipality of Le Quartier , generally drains in a westerly direction and flows into the Cher after 22 kilometers at the municipal boundary of Saint-Marcel-en-Marsillat and Château-sur-Cher as a right tributary . On its way, the Boron crosses the Puy-de-Dôme department , forms the border with the Allier department in the lower reaches and meets the Creuse department in the neighboring region of Limousin at its confluence .
