Boundaries is a tragic comedy directed by Shana Feste that released in US cinemas on June 22, 2018.

action

After her father Jack was kicked out of a nursing home in Texas for some minor drug offenses, his single daughter Laura has to drive him to her sister in California. Laura's 14-year-old son Henry, who finally wants to get to know his father, is also in the car. Jack and his daughter have become estranged. The road trip turns out differently than expected when Jack wants to make a few stops. Laura begins to realize what kind of man her father really is.

The film premiered on March 12, 2018 as part of the South by Southwest Film Festival and was released in US cinemas on June 22, 2018. That same month the film opened the Nantucket Film Festival.

In the USA, the film received an R rating from the MPAA , which corresponds to a rating of 17 and over.

Owen Gleiberman of Variety described the film as a touching and yet so shrewd father-daughter road movie and the best version of this kind of film that you can imagine.
