The city of Bountiful is located in Davis County in the US - state of Utah .
history
Bountiful was founded on September 27, 1847 by Perrigrine Sessions and his family. Bountiful was the second settlement in Utah after Salt Lake City , was originally called Sessions Settlement or North Canyon Ward and was given its current name in 1855. This name was chosen because the predominantly Mormon residents knew it from the Book of Mormon .
Even today, most of its residents are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints .
