The Brèze is a river in southern France that runs in the Lozère department in the Occitanie region . It rises in the Cevennes National Park , on the western flank of Mont Aigoual , and generally drains in a north-westerly direction through a wooded valley between two mountain ranges from 1100 to 1400 meters. After 15 kilometers, the Brèze flows into the Jonte as a left tributary at Meyrueis . The normally calm river can suddenly carry very large amounts of water after rainfall.
