Breze is a town and commune Déléguée in the French community Bellevigne-les-Châteaux with 1,234 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . The inhabitants are called Brézéens .

On January 1, 2019, the municipality of Brézé merged with Chacé and Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg to form the Commune nouvelle Bellevigne-les-Châteaux. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The municipality of Brézé belonged to the Arrondissement of Saumur and the canton of Doué-la-Fontaine (until 2015: Canton of Montreuil-Bellay ).

location

Brézé is about 50 kilometers southeast of Angers . The municipality of Brézé was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg in the north, Fontevraud-l'Abbaye in the northeast, Épieds in the south and east, Montreuil-Bellay in the south and southwest, and Saint-Just-sur-Dive in the west as well Chacé to the west and northwest.
