The Canton Doue-la-Fontaine is a French constituency in Arrondissement of Saumur in the department of Maine-et-Loire and the region Pays de la Loire ; its main town is Doué-en-Anjou .
Historical development
When the cantons were reorganized in 2015, the municipalities of the former cantons of Montreuil-Bellay and Gennes were largely taken over.

Until the nationwide reorganization of the cantons in 2015, the canton of Doué-la-Fontaine consisted of twelve municipalities: Brigné , Concourson-sur-Layon , Dénezé-sous-Doué , Doué-la-Fontaine (main town), Forges , Louresse-Rochemenier , Martigné- Briand , Meigné , Montfort , Saint-Georges-sur-Layon , Les Ulmes and Les Verchers-sur-Layon . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 4913.
