Les Rosiers-sur-Loire (until 1993 only Les Rosiers ) is a village and a commune déléguée in the French commune of Gennes-Val-de-Loire with 2,309 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Maine-et-Loire department in the region Pays de la Loire . The inhabitants are called Rosiérois . Les Rosiers-sur-Loire is the administrative center of the municipality of Gennes-Val-de-Loire.
On January 1, 2018, the municipality with Saint-Martin-de-la-Place joined the Commune nouvelle Gennes-Val-de-Loire (spelling with hyphens only since accession) . Les Rosiers-sur-Loire is the administrative center and a commune déléguée with 2,309 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the new municipality. The municipality of Les Rosiers-sur-Loire was part of the Saumur arrondissement and the Longué-Jumelles canton (until 2015: Saumur-Nord canton ).
geography
Les Rosiers-sur-Loire is located about 27 kilometers east-southeast of Angers in the Loire Valley , which is protected here as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in the Anjou . The Authion also crosses the community. The commune of Les Rosiers-sur-Loire was surrounded by the neighboring communes of La Menitré in the north and north-west, Beaufort-en-Anjou in the north, Longué-Jumelles in the east and north-east, Saint-Clément-des-Levées in the east and south-east and Gennes Val-de-Loire to the south and west.
The former Routes nationales 152 (today's D952) and 751 (today's D751) run through Les Rosiers-sur-Loire, and it has a station on the Tours – Saint-Nazaire railway line .
