Until the state-wide reorganization of the cantons in 2015, the canton Cholet-1 consisted of parts of the city of Cholet and the two municipalities of La Séguinière and Saint-Léger-sous-Cholet . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 4935.
