geography
Charcé-Saint-Ellier-sur-Aubance is located about 16 kilometers southeast of Angers in the Anjou wine-growing region . The Aubance flows through the area of the former municipality . The municipality of Charcé-Saint-Ellier-sur-Aubance was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Saint-Saturnin-sur-Loire in the north and north-west, Blaison-Saint-Sulpice in the north and east, Chemellier in the east, Les Alleuds in the south and Brissac-Quincé in the west and southwest.
history
In 1973 the municipalities of Charcé and Saint-Ellier were merged to form the municipality of Charcé-Saint-Ellier-sur-Aubance. This municipality was established on December 15, 2016 with nine other municipalities, namely Les Alleuds , Brissac-Quincé , Chemellier , Coutures , Luigné , Saint-Rémy-la-Varenne , Saint-Saturnin-sur-Loire , Saulgé-l'Hôpital and Vauchrétien merged to form the new municipality of Brissac Loire Aubance. It belonged to the Arrondissement of Angers and the canton of Les Ponts-de-Cé (until 2015: canton Thouarcé ).
