Vauchrétien is a town and commune Déléguée in the French commune of Brissac Loire Aubance with 1,491 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . The inhabitants are called Valchristinois .

The municipality of Vauchrétien was founded on December 15, 2016 with nine other municipalities, namely Brissac-Quincé , Charcé-Saint-Ellier-sur-Aubance , Chemellier , Coutures , Luigné , Saint-Rémy-la-Varenne , Saint-Saturnin-sur-Loire , Saulgé-l'Hôpital and Les Alleuds merged to form the new municipality of Brissac Loire Aubance. It belonged to the Arrondissement of Angers and the canton of Les Ponts-de-Cé (until 2015: canton Thouarcé ).

Vauchrétien is located about 28 kilometers south of Angers in the Anjou wine-growing region . The municipality of Vauchrétien was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Saint-Melaine-sur-Aubance in the north, Saint-Jean-des-Mauvrets in the north and northeast, Brissac-Quincé in the east, Notre-Dame-d'Allençon in the southeast, Faye-d ' Anjou to the south and south-west and Soulaines-sur-Aubance to the west and north-west.
