Saint-Jean-des-Mauvrets is a town and commune Déléguée in the French community with 1,810 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . The inhabitants are called Malvrétois .

On December 15, 2016, Saint-Jean-des-Mauvrets merged with Juigné-sur-Loire to form the new municipality of Les Garennes sur Loire. It belonged to the Arrondissement of Angers and the canton of Les Ponts-de-Cé .

Saint-Jean-des-Mauvrets is located about eleven kilometers southeast of Angers on the southern bank of the Loire .
