Juigné-sur-Loire is a small town and a commune Déléguée in the French community with 2,698 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . The inhabitants are called Juignéens .
The municipality of Juigné-sur-Loire merged with Saint-Jean-des-Mauvrets on December 15, 2016 to form the new municipality of Les Garennes sur Loire. It belonged to the Arrondissement of Angers and the canton of Les Ponts-de-Cé .
geography
Juigné-sur-Loire is about nine kilometers southeast of Angers on the southern bank of the Loire , whose valley here is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Anjou wine-growing region . Here the Louet flows into the Loire again. The municipality of Juigné-sur-Loire was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Les Ponts-de-Cé in the north and north-west, La Daguenière (today: Loire-Authion ) in the north-east, Saint-Jean-des-Mauvrets in the east and south-east and Saint-Melaine -sur-Aubance to the south and south-west.
