Brünsee (formerly: Brünnsee ) is a village and district of the city of Harburg (Swabia) in the district of Donau-Ries in the administrative district of Swabia in Bavaria .
The district consists of the village of Brünsee, consisting of Oberbrünsee and Unterbrünsee , and the hamlet of Marbach .
Brünsee and Marbach are southeast of Harburg and east of the Wörnitz in the southern Franconian Jura, with Brünsee in the Wörnitztal and Marbach already in the Jura hills.
Brünsee with its districts was an independent municipality in the Donauwörth district and was incorporated into the city of Harburg (Swabia) on July 1, 1971 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria . On July 1, 1972, Harburg and its districts were added to the Nördlingen-Donauwörth district, which has been called Donau-Ries district since May 1, 1973 .
The Protestants in Brünsee and Marbach belong to the Protestant parish of St. Peter and Paul in Ebermergen , the Catholics to the parish of St. John in Mündling .
On the road from Harburg to Brünsee, on the left bank of the Wörnitz, Wellwart Castle was once located . The karst spring Brünsee, a natural monument, is located in the middle of the village .
