Heroldingen is a parish village and part of the city of Harburg (Swabia) in the district of Donau-Ries in the administrative district of Swabia in Bavaria . The district also includes the wastes Brennhof and Tiefenmühle . The Zehentstadel museum is located in Heroldingen .

geography

Heroldingen is located northwest of Harburg in the Nördlinger Ries, just west of the crater rim. To the west, the Wörnitz flows around the place, which at this point makes a bend to the southeast when coming from the north. Just west of Heroldingen, the Eger, coming from the west, flows into the Wörnitz. The Brennhof is located east of Heroldingen in the hills of the Franconian Alb .

Directly west of Heroldingen is the north-south state road St 2221 from Oettingen in Bavaria to Hoppingen . The district road DON 37 leaves the state road St 2221 at Heroldingen and continues via Katzenstein to Ronheim .

history

Heroldingen with a distillery and deep mill was an independent municipality in the district of Nördlingen . As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , the municipality of Schrattenhofen was incorporated on January 1, 1972 . On July 1, 1972, Heroldingen was incorporated into the Nördlingen-Donauwörth district, which has been called Donau-Ries district since May 1, 1973 . On May 1, 1978 it was incorporated into the city of Harburg (Swabia).
