Ronheim is a village and district of the city Harburg (Schwaben) in the district of Donau-Ries in the administrative region of Swabia in Bavaria .

The district also includes the hamlet Katzenstein and the remote area Sonderhof .

Ronheim is located north of Harburg on the southern edge of the Franconian Alb , which descends into the Wörnitz valley . The Wörnitz flows around Katzenstein, west of Ronheim, and Ronheim on its south side. The Sonderhof is north of Ronheim in the Jura heights.

The village is mentioned for the first time in the year 805 in Carolingian times, later around 870 as Rumoldesheim in a document from Ludwig the German .

Ronheim and its districts had belonged to Huisheim before 1826 , after which it was an independent municipality in the Donauwörth district . As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , it was added to the district of Nördlingen-Donauwörth on July 1, 1972, which has been called the Donau-Ries district since May 1, 1973 , and incorporated into the city of Harburg (Swabia) on the same day.

The Protestants from Ronheim and Sonderhof belong to the Protestant parish of Saint Barbara in Harburg . Katzenstein belongs to the parish of Sankt Martin in Heroldingen .
The Catholics of Ronheim and Katzenstein belong to the Catholic parish Heiligestes Herz Jesu in Harburg . Sonderhof belongs to the parish of Sankt Vitus in Huisheim .

The Riesbahn runs through Ronheim from Aalen to Donauwörth .
The state road St 2384 from Wemding runs through Ronheim and continues to Harburg . The district road DON 37 , coming from Heroldingen via Katzenstein, joins the state road St 2384 near Ronheim.
The last stage of the Frankenweg hiking trail leads to Harburg through Ronheim.
