Brad Silberling

Bradley Silberling (born September 8, 1963 in Washington, DC , USA ) is an American film director , screenwriter and film producer .

Life

The son of a television producer studied at the University of California, Los Angeles and began working as a production assistant for a US children's TV station in 1986, a year before he graduated.

Repairs , a short film for which Silberling wrote the script and took over the direction, aroused the interest of Universal Studios , whose managers then signed him. Initially working exclusively as a producer, TV producer Steven Bochco recognized Silberling's potential, and then entrusted him with directing several well-known television series, including LA Law and NYPD Blue . He made his debut as a feature film director in 1995 with Casper . Other well-known feature films followed.

In private, Silberling was briefly in a relationship with Rebecca Schaeffer , shortly before she was murdered by a stalker in 1989 . His memories of Schaeffer and his grief over her death were echoed in the film Moonlight Mile with Susan Sarandon , Dustin Hoffman and Jake Gyllenhaal in the leading roles.

Since September 30, 1995 , Silberling has been married to Amy Brenneman , the leading actress in For All Cases Amy . The two met on the set of the television series NYPD Blue. The two have a daughter (* 2001) and a son (* 2005).
