Brandon Samuel Bass (born April 30, 1985 in Baton Rouge , Louisiana ) is an American basketball player who was active in the NBA from 2005 to 2016 . Since 2017 he has been under contract with the Liaoning Flying Leopards of the Chinese CBA .

childhood

Bass grew up in a poor family in Erwinville and suffered severe blows of fate in his childhood. His father left the family early. His mother struggled every day to support the family; she died of a severe heart attack in her sleep. Since then, Bass lived with his brother Chris and his sister Dashia with his aunt, who now had eight children to look after.

Career

Bass first played at Capitol High School and later at Louisiana State University . After his sophomore year at LSU, he signed up for the NBA draft . He was previously named 2005 SEC Player of the Year .

In the 2007 draft , the New Orleans Hornets voted him 33rd. Bass was active two seasons for the team from Louisiana and then moved to the Dallas Mavericks on July 26, 2007 .

In July 2009 he signed a 4 year contract with Orlando Magic. On December 3, 2010, he reached his career best with 27 points against the Detroit Pistons .

On December 9, 2011, bass was traded for Glen Davis and Von Wafer in the Boston Celtics . With the Celtics, Bass reached the Eastern Conference Finals in the shortened season 2011/12 , where they only narrowly failed due to the Miami Heat around LeBron James . Bass was active for the Celtics until the end of the 2014/15 season .

After being under contract with the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2015/16 season , Bass moved to city rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers, for one season in the summer of 2016 .
