Branko Cvetković (born March 5, 1984 in Gračanica , Bosnia and Herzegovina ) is a Serbian basketball player . Since the 2011/12 season he has been playing for the Kazakhstani BK Astana, which officially belong to the continental association FIBA Asia , but compete against Eastern European clubs in the club competition VTB United League .
Career as a player
society
Cvetković began his career with the clubs Spartak Subotica and Borac Čačak in Serbia. The first notable successes he achieved with the BC Reflex / FMP Železnik from Belgrade. With this club he won the Adriatic League in 2006 and the Serbian Cup in 2007. In the 2007/08 season he played for Akasvayu Girona in Spain. With Girona he reached the final in the ULEB Eurocup which was lost to DKV Joventut . In the 2008/09 season he moved to Panionios Athens, with whom he played in the Euroleague. He played one season (2009/10) in Italy with Scavolini Pesaro. He then moved to the Ukraine in 2010/11 to BK Donetsk, with whom he was second in the 2011 Ukrainian championship. For the 2011/12 season Cvetković signed a contract with the Kazakh club BK Astana. With Astana he was three times in a row (2011-2013) Kazakh Cup winner and 2012 Kazakh champion.
National team
Branko Cvetković was a member of the Serbian national basketball team during the qualifying matches for the European Championship 2009 .
