Brewery building from the late 19th century

The Wieninger brewery (full company name: Privatbrauerei MC Wieninger GmbH & Co. KG ) is a brewery in Teisendorf in Upper Bavaria in the Berchtesgadener Land . The annual output is around 100,000 hectoliters.

history

The brewery in Teisendorf is first mentioned in a document around 1600. Due to frequent disputes between the brewery owner and the Prince Archbishopric of Salzburg , whose territory also included Teisendorf, the Prince Archbishopric acquired the brewery in 1666. After secularization , it was bought in 1813 by the landlord's son Philipp Wieninger (1767–1835), who came from Trautmannsdorf in the Bavarian Forest and who had previously run the Hilz'sche Kaiserhütte in Schönau am Lusen with his wife . Later he also acquired what was then the monastery brewery in Höglwörth . His successor was his son Max Christian Wieninger , to whom today's company name goes back. The Wieninger family, who still own the brewery to this day, have since acquired numerous restaurants in the region as well as the Fischerbräu in Reichenhall.

Since the Wieningers were a dynasty of innkeepers and brewers, there were other Wieninger breweries, including in Vilshofen , Dachau , Fürstenzell , Schärding , Pilsting and Munich .

Products

beer

The brewery's range includes almost two dozen different types of beer. In addition to various types of wheat beer , the brewery also produces export and Pils beers as well as dark beers . A light wheat beer ("Federweizen") with a reduced alcohol content and mixed beer drinks such as Radler or the "ügel-Goaß "are offered all year round. This range is regularly supplemented by special bottlings as part of brewery anniversaries or public holidays. For several years now, bottles with swing top have been bottled again. This type of bottle causes higher costs for acquisition, cleaning and filling and is therefore only offered for advertising reasons.

Beer workshop

Since 2012, very small amounts of beer have been brewed regularly in the in-house “beer workshop”. These special fillings are offered in 0.75 liter bottles with swing top. The devices purchased specifically for this purpose are designed for such small quantities and are traditionally used in home breweries . For the special bottlings, beers are bottled for which old types of grain and special compositions of ingredients are used. These beers usually have a higher alcohol content.

Mineral water and sodas

The brewery also fills a table water from the in-house brand "Alpenfels" and the lemonades from Libella itself.

Beverage markets

TOP Getränke Abholmarkt GmbH is a subsidiary of the brewery and offers products from Wieninger and its partners as well as products from other regional and national breweries at various locations in the brewery's delivery area.

He holds 58% of the personally liable partner, Wieninger Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH , and 41% of the capital in the company. Other people each hold shares of a maximum of 17%.
