The existence of Breinermoor with its ten districts, including Moorhusen, the Wilderfang, Idhörn and the Prinzenburg, is dated by historical researchers to the year 1362 . However, we only get certain information from the 15th century, when the place still belonged to the parish of Backemoor. 200 years ago, Breinermoor was a port for the Fehntjer boatmen. The "Breinermöerkes" are known far beyond the Overledingerland and East Frisia . Ice skates that have been made for generations by master craftsmen from wood and iron rails - 1/4 of high carbon steel and 3/4 of wrought iron. These quality wooden skates were made by the local blacksmiths and cobblers from 1830 to 1972. The St. Sebastian and St. Vincenz Church was built in 1784.
