Location of Breitenbrunn in Bavaria

The village of Breitenbrunn is a district of the district town of Wunsiedel in the district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtel Mountains (northeast Bavaria), three kilometers south on the northern slope of the Luisenburg. In 2000, 203 people lived in Breitenbrunn.

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1421/22 in an invoice from the margravial office of Wunsiedel. At that time, the residents had to hand over eggs to the bailiff in Hohenberg as interest. In 1499 the village had nine farms, with the neck court these belonged to Wunsiedel. In 1716 a mill was built in the village, in 1818 the village became part of the Schönbrunn community, and in 1975 it was incorporated into Wunsiedel.

There is an animal shelter in the village that is run by an association.
