The Bremer Hütte in the Harz Mountains is a refuge in the part of the Harz National Park in the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt that belongs to the urban area of Ilsenburg .

Geographical location

The Bremer Hütte is located in the Hochharz in the Harz National Park. It is at Ilsetal to the upper Ilse cases at approximately half the straight line between the located on the north edge of the Harz Kernstadt of Ilsenburg in the north-northeast and the chunks ( 1141.1  m above sea level.  NHN ) (highest mountain of the resin) in the south-southwest, and the focus stone ( 697.6  m ) in the west and the Waldgasthaus Plessenburg (approx.  542  m ) in the east. Your location is at an altitude of about 530  m .

history

The first Bremer Hütte , which according to various sources was about 30 to 50 m below today's hut - down the valley on the slope to the Ilse - was erected in the late 19th century by hikers from the Hanseatic city of Bremen . After this hut was destroyed by a storm, the current hut was built in 2008.

Stamped beech refuge

The Heinrich-Heine -Wanderweg leads past the Bremer Hütte , on which you can hike from Ilsenburg to the Brocken in the Harz National Park (see the hiking section in the Kleiner Brocken article ). The hut is included with the Upper Ilse Falls as No. 6 in the system of stamping points of the Harz hiking pin.

Directly northeast of a path branch ( 637.7  m ) located 1.1 km south-southwest of the Bremer Hütte on the Ilse tributary Keelbeck , there used to be a once magnificent beech with the stamp beech , of which only the stump has survived ; There is a small refuge next door. The stump is included as No. 8 in the system of stamp points of the Harz hiking pin.
