Brendan Schmidt (born September 3, 1994 in St. Louis , Missouri ) is an American volleyball player .

Career

Schmidt first played hockey before he came to volleyball through friends. He began his career at Fort Zumwalt West High School in O'Fallon . From 2014 to 2018 he studied at McKendree University and played on the university team Bearcats. After his studies, the middle blocker went to Romania and won the national cup with Dinamo Bucharest in the 2018/19 season. In 2019 he took part in the Pan American Cup with the US national team. He then moved to the German Bundesliga club VfB Friedrichshafen .
