Ascent

Bretterspitze, Gliegerkarspitze and Kaufbeurer Haus

Two marked paths lead to the summit of the Bretterspitze, each of which requires surefootedness.

From Hinterhornbach , a path leads to the Kaufbeurer house in around 2½ hours . From there you can reach the summit in 1¾ hours through the Urbeleskar and over the northeast ridge.

From Häselgehr , a slightly further path leads in 4½ hours through the Hagerletal and the Gliegerkar also to the northeast ridge and from there on the same route to the summit.

From the Schwärzerscharte it goes along the east ridge to the summit (marked - one point of difficulty level I). The Bretterspitze is also often climbed in connection with the Enzenspergerweg (Hermann-von-Barth-Hütte Kaufbeurer Haus).

Mountaineers with some climbing dexterity can also climb the Bretterspitze via the west ridge (level of difficulty II).
