Brigitte Eisenfeld

Brigitte Eisenfeld (born September 19, 1945 in Falkenstein / Vogtl. ) Is a German opera singer ( coloratura soprano ).

Life

After studying singing at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin with Hans Eisenfeld and Maria Corelli, she had her first engagement in Karl-Marx-Stadt in 1970 as a coloratura soubrette (Hannchen, Adele, Rosina, Gretel, etc.). In 1972 she made her debut at the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin , where she was engaged until 2010. In 1981 she was appointed chamber singer and in 1988 received the GDR Art Prize . Eisenfeld has won national and international competitions in Berlin, Bratislava, 's-Hertogenbosch and Salzburg. Guest performances took her as Zerbinetta to the Vienna State Opera , the Dresden Semperoper and the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music in 1992 . She has worked with conductors Arthur Apelt , Otmar Suitner , Wolfgang Rennert , Siegfried Kurz and, after 1990, with Fabio Luisi , Daniel Barenboim , Sebastian Weigle and Philippe Jordan . From 2001 to 2010 she was a member of the Musical Comedy Berlin as a singer and actress, where she played Clothilde in Fisch zu Viert and the Galathee in Die Schöne Galathée or the Prima donna von Leitmeritz .

Eisenfeld was a frequent guest at radio productions and had around 100 television appearances as a singer and with her own music show (Love has colorful wings), in which she also acted as a presenter. She had her last engagement at MDR in 2015. She sang Mrs. Fluth in the opera film Die Lustigen Frauen von Windsor and Sandrina in Die Gärtnerin aus Liebe .

Brigitte Eisenfeld has also been a vocal teacher since 1995.

Together with her four brothers (including the historian Bernd Eisenfeld , who belonged to the GDR opposition ), she sketched a piece of GDR history in the documentary Die Eisenfelds (1996) .
