Location and surroundings
The hut is located on the Brogles-Alm in the ridge that separates Villnöß in the north and Val Gardena in the south. It is located at an altitude of 2045 m in the area of the municipality of Villnöß in South Tyrol , Italy .
The Brogles-Alm connects directly to the east of Rasciesa , from which it is separated by the Brogles-Saddle. Over the saddle you first get to Innerraschötz: From there you continue to the west towards Ausserraschötz with the Raschötzhütte , to the south-west Ortisei in Val Gardena and to the north St. Peter .
The Seceda rises south of the Brogles-Alm , the westernmost peak of the Geisler group , which can be climbed following the path over the Pana-Scharte. In an easterly direction you can hike along the northern flank of the Geisler group to the Schlüterhütte , to the north you descend to St. Magdalena .
history
Brogleshütte, first mentioned in 1757, was probably built around 1700 on behalf of the Lords of Freising as a shelter for shepherds. In 1860 it was bought by a Lajener farmer named Ploner, who ran the Moar farm. In 1926 the Ploner family ordered the construction of a second floor. In 1950 there was another renovation with an extension of the hut.
