The Schlüterhütte ( Italian Rifugio Genova al Passo Poma ) is a refuge in the Peitlerkofel group in the Dolomites .
Location and surroundings
The Schlüterhütte is located in the municipality of Villnöß in South Tyrol , Italy . It is located at 2297 m above sea level at the upper end of the Villnöß valley , from where it is easiest to reach, in the Puez-Geisler Nature Park .
To the east you get to the nearby Kreuzkofeljoch, which represents the transition to the Campilltal , a side valley of the Gadertal . To the north you reach the Günther-Messner-Steig , which leads west through the Aferer Geisler and to its highest peak, the Tullen , and the Peitlerscharte, which is a starting point for the ascent of the Peitlerkofel . Following the path to the south you come to the Bronsoijoch and from there to the southwest over the Kreuzjoch to the Geisler group .
history
The Dresden businessman Franz Schlueter arranged for the hut to be built in 1898 and handed it over as a gift to the DuÖAV Dresden section after completion . In 1908 an extension was put into operation. After the First World War , the hut was expropriated by the Italian state and assigned to the CAI section of Genoa . After the Second World War , the CAI section Brixen took over the building, which subsequently initiated several renovations.
Together with 24 other shelters expropriated by the state, the Schlüterhütte became the property of the Autonomous Province of Bozen - South Tyrol in 1999; At the end of 2010, the license for their management by the CAI expired. Since 2015, the state of South Tyrol has been supported in the management of the hut (assignment to tenants, supervision of management, renovation measures) by a joint commission, in which the AVS and CAI are represented in addition to the public sector .
