Bror Abelli
Bror Abelli (born July 26, 1880 , † November 12, 1962 in Överjärna , Södermanland ) was a Swedish director , actor , singer , writer and cinema owner.
Abelli began the publication of the own film magazine in 1924 Filmkuriren and was also an active debater in film and cinema matters. In 1909 he had the first permanent cinema built in Umeå . After Umeå's municipal theater burned down in 1913, he converted his cinema into a theater, set up an amateur theater group and played revues . At the height of his career he ran around twenty cinema theaters from Kiruna to Stockholm . His first cinema can still be seen in the Västerbotten Museum .
