Bruce Gilbert
Bruce Regan Gilbert (born March 28, 1947 in Del Mar , California , United States ) is an American film producer and screenwriter .
Life
Having 1965-1967 at the Boston University and from 1967 to 1969 at the University of California, Berkeley psychology majored in and successfully completed, Gilbert has been active since the late 1970s in the movie business. His first involvement in a film was Coming Home in 1978 . This is about the Vietnam War , was directed by Hal Ashby and received a total of eight Oscar nominations. In 1980 he became President and CEO of his production company American Filmworks , which he still is today. After another very successful film in 1981, At the Golden Lake , for which Gilbert himself received an Oscar nomination for the first time, he turned to television. He acted as executive producer on the theatrical adaptation of the television series Why actually ... don't we kill the boss? . The very successful series The Dollmaker was also produced by him. His last involvement in a film production was the television film Glory & Honor , for which he wrote the screenplay.
Gilbert is divorced, has two sons, and lives alternately in New York and California .
