action

Jason Grace wakes up on a school field trip with no memories of his previous life. During this outing, Jason, Piper McLean and Leo Valdez, two classmates and the trainer Hedge, who turns out to be a satyr , are attacked by Venti . With the help of Jason's sword, the monsters can be defeated, which still kidnap Hedge. Shortly thereafter, Jason, Leo and Piper are picked up by two teenagers in a wagon pulled by Pegasi and taken to Camp Halfblood. There the three learn that they are children of Greek deities and thus demigods. A sign appears to Leo Valdez, which means that he is a son of Hephaestus . While Leo and Piper are being shown through the camp, Jason has a conversation with the centaur Chiron , who realizes that Jason has already been recognized and is not a Greek but a Roman demigod from an unknown Roman camp. Suddenly, the goddess Hera appears to Jason , who tells him that she is being held captive and that Jason must free his patroness. At the same time, Hera also appears to Leo and Piper.

In the evening with the circular song , the oracle of Delphi made a prophecy stating that a child of Jupiter , Hephaestus and a child of Aphrodite must go out together to fight against the awakening Gaia and her sons. Your goal is to free Hera. At the same moment, Piper McLean is recognized by her mother Aphrodite and convinces the other demigods that she has to go on this mission. Everyone agrees, since she has the gift of Aphrodite to convince everyone with her voice. Since Jason is the only son of Jupiter, he is allowed to lead the operation. Leo Valdez is taken along because he is a son of Hephaestus and owns a mechanical kite that can be used as a means of transport, since the demigods are not supposed to cross the earth because of Gaia. They fly off together and have to stand together against many dangers. When Jason and Leo find out that Piper's father is being held captive by the giant Encelados, they decide to free him and kill Encelados. With the help of a lightning bolt from Jupiter and the now freed satyr Hedge, they succeed.

They learn that the giant Porphyrion is keeping Hera imprisoned in what is known as the Wolf House. Once there, Leo and Piper free Hera from their cage and Jason can force the giant to retreat. When Hera regains all of her divine power, she assumes her true form to kill attacking monsters. Jason sees Hera right then, but doesn't turn to dust. Piper can save him and Jason regains his memory. Leo then begins building the Argo II, a flying ship.
