The Bruggerberg is a Jura mountain in the Swiss canton of Aargau . It takes its name from the city of Brugg , which lies south of the mountain on the Aare .
The Bruggerberg extends from the Umiken district of Bruges in the southwest to the Rein district of Rüfenach in the northeast. The easternmost section is called Reinerberg.
In the west of the Bruggerberg lies the municipality of Riniken , in the north the village of Riniken and on the south-eastern slope the Brugger district Lauffohr . In the south and east it is bounded by the Aare valley. The Reinerbach , which rises at Riniken and flows into the Aare at Villigen, flows along the north-west foot of the mountain .
The mountain is forested and has rugged rock faces on the southeast side, where caves can also be found. Two viewpoints are named Alpenzeiger and Wasserschlossblick .
From Geissberg ago are chamois immigrated.
