Bruno Brommer

Bruno Brommer (born January 7, 1951 in Speyer ) is a German diplomat and was ambassador to Burundi from 2011 to 2016 .

Life

After graduating from high school , Brommer studied history and political science and graduated with a master's degree . In 1980 he joined the Foreign Service and after completing his career test for the higher service found jobs in the Foreign Office and at the embassies in Algeria and Austria .

After working from 1992 to 1993 as permanent representative of the ambassador in Latvia , he became chief of protocol in the State Chancellery of the Free State of Saxony in 1993 . After completing this activity, he worked in the Foreign Office between 1995 and 1999 and was then on leave to work as chief of staff at the Expo 2000 in Hanover , before he was permanent representative of the ambassador in Kenya from 2000 to 2004 .

He was then head of the Herat branch of the embassy in Afghanistan from 2004 to July 11, 2005 and subsequently, from July 11, 2005, Consul General in Strasbourg .

Subsequently, as Counselor of the Embassy, ​​he was head of the Banja Luka branch of the Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina responsible for the Republika Srpska . In August 2010 the branch in the Republika Srpska was closed.

In August 2011, Bruno Brommer succeeded Joseph Weiß , who in turn became ambassador in Togo , and ambassador in Burundi .
