Bruno Schüler (born May 4, 1901 in Haspe ; † July 9, 1956 in Cologne ) was a German manager , administrative officer and politician ( NSDAP ).

Life

Bruno Schüler passed his Abitur at the secondary school in Haspe in 1918 and then took part in the First World War as a volunteer . After the end of the war he joined the Eastern Border Guard and became a member of the Maercker Freikorps . He completed an apprenticeship as a banker from 1920, initially worked as an employee at a bank and finally switched to brewing in 1924. In 1933 he became director of the board of the Dortmund Union brewery .

In 1923, Schüler joined the NSDAP, became a member of the SA and held the rank of standard leader there from 1939. In addition, he acted as district inspector for the management of the NSDAP district Westphalia-South . From March 23 to August 7, 1933 he was State Commissioner for the City of Dortmund, from July 1933 as Second Mayor and from December 1933 to August 1934 as Acting Mayor of the City of Dortmund . After Willi Banike took over the official duties, he served as an unpaid city councilor for the Dortmund cultural department until September 1938. He was also a member of the Westphalian Provincial Council from 1935 to 1938.

Schüler was president from 1933 to 1934 and vice-president of the Dortmund Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 1934 to 1936 . In October 1938 he became chairman of the board of directors of Schöfferhof-Binding-Brauerei AG .

After the end of the Second World War he was imprisoned.
