Herbert Scholtissek

Herbert Scholtissek (born September 19, 1900 in Kreuzburg , ( Upper Silesia ); † November 8, 1979 in Baden-Baden ) was a German CDU politician and judge of the Federal Constitutional Court from 1951 to 1967 .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1918, Herbert Scholtissek studied law and political science as well as economics at the universities in Breslau and Heidelberg and completed his studies in 1921 with a doctorate as a Dr. jur. as well as with the second state examination in law . Starting in 1923 as a lawyer and since 1945 as a notary admitted he was because of his election by the Bundestag (and re-election of 15 September 1959) of 7 September 1951 to the August 31, 1967 the First Senate of the Federal Constitutional Court to. His successor was the judge Hans Brox .

Political party

Scholtissek was a member of the German Center Party and the Windthorstbund youth organization, which is close to the center , from 1918 to 1933, and from 1923 he was also a member of the Reich Banner Black-Red-Gold . 1926 to 1929 he was provincial chairman of the Westphalian Windthorstbünde.

After the Second World War, he joined the CDU, was from 1946 district chairman of the CDU Dortmund and city councilor in Dortmund.

MP

Scholtissek was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from April 20, 1947 to September 20, 1951. There he was from 1949 to 1951 chairman of the special committee for the consultation of the community, official and district regulations.

Public offices

Scholtissek was Lord Mayor of Dortmund from April 16, 1946 to October 28, 1946 . His successor was Fritz Henßler .

Honors

In 2010, a new street was named after him in his former home, Brackel : Herbert-Scholtissek-Weg.

Scholtissek was a Knight of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem . He was on the thirtieth April 1960 in Stuttgart by Lorenz Cardinal Jaeger in the Order of the Holy grave in Jerusalem invested .
