Bruno Wollstädter

Bruno Wollstädter (born July 14, 1878 in Königsberg , East Prussia , † February 17, 1940 in Leipzig ) was a German sculptor in Leipzig.

Life

The son of the sculptor Wilhelm Wollstädter was trained artistically by his father. In 1905 both founded a joint sculpture workshop in the Leipzig district of Eutritzsch , which Wollstädter continued after his father's death. In cooperation with leading architects in Leipzig, the Wollstädter workshop was involved in the sculptural design of important public and private buildings in and outside Leipzig. In addition, he made numerous grave systems for the Leipzig upper middle class. For his artistic design of a hand pump (type “bird cage”) he received first prize in a city competition.

Wollstädter died of severe diabetes at the age of 61 and left three sons and a daughter. His urn was buried in his wife's grave in the New Johannis Cemetery .
