Bucerdea Vinoasă ( German Botschhard , Hungarian Borosbocsárd ) is a Romanian village in the Alba district in Transylvania . It is part of the Ighiu community .
The place is also known by the Hungarian name Bocsárd .
location
Bucerdea Vinoasă is located in the valley of the Bucerdea brook on the south-eastern edge of the Trascău Mountains in western Transylvania. The Ighiu Community Center is two kilometers south; the district capital Alba Iulia ( Karlsburg ) is about 15 kilometers south of Bucerdea Vinoasă.
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1238 under the name Buchard . For several centuries it was divided into the lower village inhabited by Hungarians ( Bucerdea Vinoasă Ungurească / Magyarborosbocsárd ) and the upper village dominated by Romanians ( Bucerdea Vinoasă Românească / Oláhborosbocsárd ). As early as the 1850 census, there were also predominantly Romanians living in the “Hungarian” part of the village. At the beginning of the 20th century, both districts were also combined administratively. Even today, Hungarian family names are not uncommon among the residents. The residents lived and live primarily from agriculture and viticulture.
population
In 1941 the highest number of inhabitants (1529, exclusively Romanians) was reached. The highest population of Hungarians (17) was in 1890 in the sub-village of Bucerdea Vinoasă Ungurească / Magyarborosbocsárd , that of Roma (8) in 1992. In the survey of 1880, two Germans were registered in the Romanian dominant Oberdorf and in 1890 in the Unterdorf . Like other towns in the region, Bucerdea Vinoasă is also affected by population emigration. The 957 inhabitants of the village referred to themselves as Romanians in 2002.
traffic
Bucerdea Vinoasă is conveniently located; the lower end of the village touches the road from Șard to Galda de Jos . Buses run several times a day from the village to the district capital Alba Iulia (as of 2008). The nearest train station, Șard Ighiu, is about 5 km away on the Alba Iulia – Zlatna line .
Attractions
In the village there is a museum at the Orthodox Church in which objects from village life are exhibited.
Bucerdea Vinoasă is a suitable starting point for hikes in the Trascău Mountains , especially on the Piatra Craivii mountain .
