Bucks is an unincorporated community in Mobile County in the state of Alabama in the United States .
geography
Bucks is located in southwest Alabama in the southern United States, approximately 38 kilometers east of the Mississippi border and 40 kilometers west of the Florida border . It is located directly on the Mobile River , which flows 36 kilometers south into Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico .
Nearby places include Movico (5 km north), Axis (8 km south), Creola (11 km south), Satsuma (14 km south), Saraland (15 km south) and Mobile (18 km south).
history
The place is named after JE Bucks, a former land surveyor. In 1911 a post office opened. Just outside of Bucks is the Ellicott Stone, listed on the National Register of Historic Places (as of December 11, 2019).

Demographics
The 2010 census showed a population of 32, divided between 18 households and 8 families. The population density was 32 people per square kilometer. 59.4% of the population were white, 31.3% black and 3.1% Indian. 6.3% had two or more races and 3.1% were Hispanics or Latin American of any ethnicity. The average age was 38 years.
