The Beech Valley Towers ( Polish Buczynowe Turnie ) are a mountain range in the Polish High Tatras in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship with a maximum height of 2184  m npm in the Great Beech Valley Tower ( Wielka Buczynowa Turnia ). The border between the municipalities of Bukowina Tatrzańska ( Brzegi district ) in the east and Poronin ( Murzasichle district ) in the west runs across the ridge of the massif .

Location and surroundings

Below the massif lie the Dolina Buczynowa and Pańszczyca valleys . The massif borders the Granatenscharte ( Granacka Przełęcz ) with the Granaten massif in the south, with the Koszysta massif in the west over the Kreuzsattel ( Krzyżne ) and over the same mountain pass with the Wallachian ridge ( Wołoszyn ).

etymology

The name Buczynowe Turnie can be as Buchentaltürme translate. The name is derived from the nearby valley Dolina Buczynowa .

Flora and fauna

The tree line is at an altitude of 1600 meters. The Buczynowe Turnie are a retreat for chamois, marmots and birds of prey, especially golden eagles.
