Bufori Motor Car Company (M) Sdn Bhd is the name of a Malay car manufacturer . Much like Excalibur and Zimmer , Bufori specializes in recreating luxury sedans from the 1930s. The brand name Bufori is an acronym from B for brilliant, U for unique, F for funtastic, O for original, R for romantic and I for irresistible (German: brilliant, unique, original, romantic and irresistible) and should sound like Italian elegance.

prehistory

The former Australian racing driver of Lebanese origin, Gerry Khouri, began in 1986 to build sports cars for himself and his two brothers Anthony and George. In 1986 this became the Bufori Motor Car Company (Australia) based in Australia . Production ended there in 1998.

When Gerry Khouri was traveling with his Bufori on the Malay island of Langkawi in 1997, he was welcomed by the then Prime Minister Dr. Saw Mahathir and asked about his car. Mahathir asked Khouri if he could envision moving production to Malaysia. Since 1998, all products have been handcrafted by the Bufori Motor Car Company (M) Sdn Bhd in Kepong near Kuala Lumpur . In Malaysia only the bodies of the MK. III La Joya made, all other parts come from all parts of the world, many also from Germany .

Models

Bufori MK. II Classic Roadster (1992-2003)

The Bufori MK. II is equipped with the four-cylinder in - line engine with a displacement of 2212 cm³ . The engine produces 94 kW (128 hp) at 5200 min -1 and offers 190 Nm of torque at 4400 rpm. Bufori La Joya (2004-2018)

Bufori Bambino (since 2005)

The Bambino, offered since 2005, is an electrically powered toy car for children in the style of a luxury convertible from the 1930s.

Bufori Geneva (since 2010)

The Geneva, internal MK. VI, is the first sedan from Bufori.

Bufori CS / BMS R1 (2010)

The Bufori CS, in full Compact Sports , is a two-door sports coupe similar to the British Bristol Fighter . Like the La Joya, it has a lightweight body made of fiber-reinforced plastic on a tubular steel frame.
