The Federal Agency for IT Services (DLZ-IT) was a federal, unincorporated institution under public law and, as a higher federal authority, was directly subordinate to the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI). It was based in Ilmenau and had other locations in Offenbach am Main and Berlin . It was the central IT service provider in the BMVI division and acts as the information technology service center for the entire federal administration .

tasks

The Federal Agency advised authorities on the planning and use of information technology. She planned and implemented IT services for projects in the BMVI division to support specialist and administrative tasks. She provided support in the planning and implementation of IT infrastructures and provides central services for the operation of IT systems on request and on behalf of the authorities. In setting up the Federal Networks project, she worked as an administrative cooperation partner and operated individual services of this infrastructure for the entire federal administration. As part of her duties, she also worked with other federal agencies as well as colleges and universities , with professional associations and companies from various branches of industry organized under private law .

history

The Federal Agency emerged from the Information Technology Service Center of the Federal Ministry for Transport, Building and Urban Development (DLZ-IT BMVBS) set up at the Federal Agency for Hydraulic Engineering . It has been part of the ITZBund since January 1, 2016 .
