The Federal Agency for Administrative Services ( BAV ) is a higher federal authority in the portfolio of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure . The authority established on July 1, 2013 and based in Aurich is an internal administrative body. The motivation for creating the authority was that administrative tasks should be carried out more effectively and economically by a central body.

Tasks and organization

The tasks are services in personnel, organizational, wage accounting, assistance and pension issues as well as internal auditing for authorities in the division of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure . As a member of the service centers (DLZ) of the Federal Administration for Transport and Digital Infrastructure, the Federal Agency also works for other departments of the Federal Administration.

The Federal Agency maintains branches in Hanover , Kiel , Koblenz , Magdeburg and Münster .

The head of the authority is Klaus Frerichs, formerly President of the Waterways and Shipping Directorate Northwest .
