History + construction of the new northern bypass
The Reichsstraße 157 (R 157) was a state road of the German Reich until 1945 , which was in the Prussian provinces of Brandenburg and Silesia . The road, which is also classified as a federal road in the short section from Forst (Lausitz) to the Neisse, which now runs in the Federal Republic of Germany, began in Forst on Reichsstraße 122 and followed the route of the current Polish DW 289 via Sommerfeld (now Lubsko ) Naumburg am Bober (now Nowogród Bobrzański ) and from there on the route of today's Droga krajowa 27 to Grünberg ( Zielona Góra ), where it ended at what was then Reichsstraße 5 . Their total length was just under 64 km. The new forest north bypass was built in 2004. The former R 157 went over the Lange Brücke, which was destroyed in World War II and was never rebuilt.
