Buton Utara (German: Nordbuton ) is a government district ( Kabupaten ) in the northeast of the Indonesian island of Buton . The district is part of the Sulawesi Tenggara Province ( Southeast Sulawesi ).

geography

Buton Utara is bordered by the administrative district of Muna to the west and the administrative district of Buton to the south . The capital is Buranga . The district includes the northeastern part of Buton Island. At the 2010 census, this district had 54,736 inhabitants (49.71% female).

Administrative division

The administrative district of Buton Utara was created in January 2007 by outsourcing from the district of Muna (Law No. 14) and since then has consisted of six administrative districts ( Kecamatan ) and 90 villages (as of 2019).
