The Bystrica is a 31.3 km long river in northwestern Slovakia in the traditional Kysuce landscape and a left tributary of the Kysuca .

The river has its source in the Beskids, more precisely on the dividing line between the Kysucká vrchovina and Oravská Magura mountains east of Nová Bystrica and north of Zázrivá . The Bystrica then flows westwards and reaches the Nová Bystrica reservoir . Behind the reservoir, in Nová Bystrica, it takes up the right-hand Vychylovka and runs parallel to the 2nd order road 520 through Stará Bystrica and Klubina ; Between these places the Radôstka on the left reaches the river. In Klubina, shortly after the mouth of the right-hand Klubinský potok, the river turns for a short distance to the north, before changing direction to the northwest at the entrance to Zborov nad Bystricou . In Krásno nad Kysucou , the 1st order road 11 crosses the Bystrica before the river flows into the Kysuca.
