Zborov nad Bystricou ( Zborov in Slovak until 1927 ; Felsőzboró in Hungarian ) is a municipality in the north-central part of Slovakia with 2215 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which belongs to the Okres Čadca , part of the Žilinský kraj .
geography
The municipality is located between the Kysucké Beskydy Mountains and the Kysucká vrchovina Mountains in the valley of the Bystrica River , a tributary of the Kysuca . It belongs to the traditional Kysuce landscape . The center of the village is at an altitude of 420 m nm and is 12 kilometers from Čadca and 30 kilometers from Žilina .
history
Zborov nad Bystricou was first mentioned in writing in 1635 and was created during the Wallachian colonization of the area. In 1640 it is run as a village.
