Klokočov (Hungarian Klokocsóvölgy ) is a municipality in the Okres Čadca of the Žilinský kraj in the far north of Slovakia . The number of inhabitants on December 31, 2010 was 2455 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality is located in the Turzovská vrchovina mountain range by the Predmieranka brook . Klokočov itself forms only a small part of the municipality, while the majority of the population lives in the surrounding valleys and mountains. Klokočov is on the national road 424, which connects the municipality with the town of Turzovka , eight kilometers to the south and with the Czech municipality of Bílá , 10 kilometers west of the village.
history
Klokočov used to be part of the town of Turzovka, which was founded in the late 16th century. On May 15, 1954, the area of the city was divided and Klokočov became a municipality.
