Celine Distel-Bonnet (born May 25, 1987 in Strasbourg , Département Bas-Rhin ) is a former French athlete who has specialized in 100 and 200-meter runs and was particularly successful with the French relay.

Athletic career

In 2005, Celine Distel qualified for participation in the U20 European Championships in Kaunas and reached 9th place in the semi-finals over 100 m. With the French relay she won the bronze medal. The following year, she also took part in the World Junior Athletics Championships in Beijing in 2006 . There she reached the finals over 100 meters and came in eighth. With the relay she won another medal, this time the silver medal.

At the European Athletics U23 Championships in 2009 , she reached the semi-finals over 100 meters and just barely missed another medal with the relay as fourth overall. In 2010 she was part of the French 4 x 100 meter relay for the European Championships in Barcelona . There she won the silver medal with the relay. In 2011, the French relay missed another medal at the World Championships in Daegu and finished fourth.

At the subsequent World Championships in Moscow , the relay was disqualified in the final. In 2014 Distel-Bonnet reached the finals at the European Championships over 100 meters, where she finished sixth - her best individual result at a major event. With the relay she won the silver medal again. In 2015 she took part in the European Indoor Championships in Prague, where she achieved a new personal best over 60 meters and made it to the semi-finals. At the World Championships in Beijing , she did not get beyond the preliminary round with the relay.

At the European Championships in Amsterdam in 2016 , she finished sixth with the French relay team. At the Olympic Games, she finished fourth in the preliminary round with the French 4 x 100 meter relay and thus did not qualify for the final.

Celine Distel-Bonnet ended her active career in November 2016.
