Cam Paddock (born March 22, 1983 in North Vancouver , British Columbia ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Augsburg Panthers from the German Ice Hockey League since January 2012 .
Career
Cam Paddock began his career in 1999 with the Kelowna Rockets in the Western Hockey League . After two inconspicuous seasons he developed together with Jesse Schultz to become the most important player in the Rockets in the 2001/02 season and became the top scorer of his team. As a result, the Pittsburgh Penguins became aware of him and pulled him in the fifth round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft in 137th place. The next year, Paddock also scored consistently and contributed to winning the President's Cup with eleven goals in the play-offs . The 2003/04 season was a huge success for the Canadian and the Rockets when they first won the Memorial Cup .
After his successful junior years, Paddock signed his first professional contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins for the 2004/05 season , but they only used him in the farm teams . From 2004 to 2006 he commuted between the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins from the American Hockey League and the Wheeling Nailers from the ECHL . In December 2006, Paddock signed a contract with the San Antonio Rampage , with whom he stayed for two years. In his first season he also played for the ECHL farm team, the Phoenix RoadRunners . After he was offensive in his junior years, his quality as a defensive striker showed in the senior sector, which is why the St. Louis Blues signed him from the National Hockey League for the 2008/09 season . After a few games with the Peoria Rivermen in the AHL called the Blues Paddock in November 2008 to the NHL team, where he made his league debut against the Chicago Blackhawks . He scored his first NHL goal on his third change and 99 seconds in the game. It was followed by another 15 games with a goal and an assist before he was sent back to the AHL. He spent the next year entirely with the Peoria Rivermen.
For the 2010/11 season he moved to Europe and signed a contract with the Iserlohn Roosters from the German Ice Hockey League . In September 2011 he was signed with a contract for a season by the Los Angeles Kings , who used him in the farm team at the Manchester Monarchs . In January 2012 the Canadian received a contract with the Augsburger Panther from the DEL.
