Cambridge Texts in the History of Political Thought ( Cambridge texts on the history of political thought ) is an English-language book series with texts of political theory. It has been published by Cambridge University Press since the late 1980s . According to its own statements, it aims to make accessible all the important texts in the history of political thought, from ancient Greece to the twentieth century, from around the world and from every political tradition. In addition to well-known classical texts contained therein, it also includes lesser-known works, many of which were previously not available in a modern English edition. The history of political thought is presented in a comparative, international context. Most of the texts have been published in full and in full. In the case of some non-Western texts, shortened or thematically focused collections are offered instead. The volumes are provided with chronologies, biographical sketches, glossaries and a text apparatus.
