Camilo Villegas (born January 7, 1982 in Medellín , Colombia ) is a professional golfer on the North American PGA Tour .
Career
Villegas learned the game of golf as a child and then played as a junior at the University of Florida . He won three amateur tournaments in the United States and was named Southeastern Conference Player of the Year in 2002 and 2004.
Via the Nationwide Tour Villegas qualified for the 2006 season on the PGA Tour and surprised the professional world with two second places in his first seven tournaments. At the Doral Championship in Miami , Villegas delivered a spectacular head-to-head race with Tiger Woods on the final day , which the world number one ultimately won by one stroke. At the beginning of September 2008 Villegas won his first tournament on the PGA Tour and followed in the same month with a second victory in the high-quality Tour Championship . As a result, he climbed to 7th place in the golf world rankings and remained in the top ten for 14 weeks.

The heavily fitness-oriented long hitter has quickly become a favorite of the media and especially of the young audience. Villegas also stands out due to its flashy clothing by the designer J.
